Dr. Stephanie Borns-Weil
Although I started my veterinary career later than most, my unusual background has proven to be an asset. I rely on the creativity I developed as an artist to solve challenging problems and to think out side the box when conventional approaches fail. The communication skills gained from years of teaching have helped me provide owners with the essential information needed to make important decisions and to provide appropriate homecare to their pets. Finally, my theological studies have allowed me to better counsel and support my clients during times of sadness and loss. Practicing veterinary medicine is a truly wonderful experience. I feel blessed to be able to spend my days with dogs, cats, birds, lizards, frogs, pigs, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits and chinchillas and the people who love them. The challenge of a complex diagnostic problem, the joy of helping a sick animal to feel better, the pure pleasure of a wagging tail or purring whiskery face has me running in the door every morning eager to start my day. When I am not seeing patients at the Animal Hospital of Lynnfield, I can be found at home enjoying the company of my family (human and canine), reading veterinary journals, painting, playing the guitar or practicing Italian longsword martial arts.
